INR 2bn Scheme to Set Up Green Hydrogen Hubs

HydrogenRs 2 billion scheme has been announced by the Kerala Government to develop green hydrogen hubs in Trivandrum and Kochi. This scheme has been announced for viability gap funding, grant, and equity support to establish green hydrogen hubs over the next two years.

In addition, a new energy park will be built to capitalise on the potential of renewable energy generation. A total of Rs 100 million has been set aside for an industrial park that will produce electric vehicle batteries and related equipment.

In September 2022, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited floated bids for a 6 MW solar power project at its refinery in Kochi, Kerala. The scope of work of the project includes engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the facility.

Also, the chosen bidder will be responsible for the project’s operations and maintenance for a period of five years. The project must be completed within 150 days from the letter of acceptance.
