Hexagon shared a prominent space during the recent electronica and productronica India-2022. Their premium booth was a hit with visitors during the three-day expo. During the show, Nitisha from BISinfotech got an opportunity to have an exclusive candid chat with Dr Karthik Sundarraj, Technical & Business Development Head – Electronics, Life Sciences & CFD, Hexagon. Hexagon’s Key Focus Area
In India specifically, Hexagon will be immensely focusing on electronics, electric vehicles, smart manufacturing, and smart agriculture. The company will be working on these verticals in the upcoming years and will be innovating in these emerging spaces.
To fulfill this agenda, Hexagon will be promoting its technologies through various Centers of Excellence (CoE). Hexagon is partnering with government and private institutions to set up CoEs, where our technology will be put so that the students and industry people can visit to expand their knowledge and upgrade their skills on advanced technology added Sundarraj.
Public-Private Partnership
We have partnered with the Central Government under its Samarth Udyog Scheme to set up a Smart Manufacturing demo center in CMTI Bangalore (Central Manufacturing Technology Institute). We are also talking to other state governments and private institutions for further development, explained Sundarraj.

While talking about the key products showcase and highlights at Hexagon booth, Sundarraj said Electronica India is a very good platform for Hexagon as it attracts a lot of OEMs and PCB manufacturers who specialize in electronics display, etc. Almost 75% of electronic manufacturers in the world use Hexagon’s products. More than 6000+ electronics customers use Hexagon products for various applications be it design, engineering, quality or smart manufacturing aspects. Electronica India is the right platform for Hexagon to showcase its end-to-end capabilities related to the electronics industry.
We are demonstrating our overall capability starting from CAD Development to production data analysis; CT scanning to metrology quality and then finally smart manufacturing aspects.

Growth Trajectory
Talking about the previous year’s growth, Sundarraj said, Hexagon has been known for its Design & Analysis, quality and inspection management capabilities. Globally, Hexagon did fabulous last year and this year also we are expecting to do well in the electronics space. Our agenda is to reach the masses and electronica India creates one such platform to reach out to almost any thinkable manufacturer in the electronics space.
