Alcatel Lucent appoints Luis Martinez-Amago as CEO
Alcatel Lucent has announced the appointment of Luis Martinez-Amago as CEO of Alcatel-Lucent Shanghai Bell (ASB). He will be looking after the ASB business in and outside China. Along with this he will also be contributing to the company’s R&D and global operation supply chain. Before taking up this new position he functioned as the president of Alcatel-Lucent’s activities in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Speaking about the appointment, Michel Combes, CEO of Alcatel-Lucent, said, “China plays a crucial role in Alcatel-Lucent’s overall transformation and global business development. Luis – with his track record and extensive experience in general management, commercial and product activities – will enable ASB to build its strategic position in the market and in Alcatel-Lucent’s global roadmap, as the group pursues the second chapter of The Shift Plan, focused on innovation, transformation and growth.”
He brings along with him vast experience of the telecommunications industry and he joined the company 26 years ago.
