The companies are not leaving any stone unturned in order to woo the maximum number of clients which would result in the growth of their revenue. This time Amazon.com has come out with a similar solution to win over more and more corporate clients. The company has announced an all new email and scheduling service, which will directly compete with the services offered by Microsoft and Google.
The service is named as WorkMail and the company will be introducing it in the second quarter. The email solution is developed by the Amazon Web Services (AWS). This service is the effort of Amazon to convince enterprises to shift more of their work to AWS. This is considered to be the first step of the company towards a broader suite of Amazon tools to increase their corporate client base.
AWS is trying hard in order to get corporate clients on board because big businesses spend more on datacentres than startups, who were the initial focus of its business. As reported by Reuters, Baird analyst Colin Sebastian said that, email is a $1 billion opportunity for Amazon given the popularity of AWS and Amazon’s willingness to sacrifice margins for volume. Through this new service Amazon can bring $10 billion of extra revenue to the company.
