Andy Rubin co-founder of Android leaves Google

The co-founder of the Android Project Andy Rubin is leaving Google as per the WSJ report. Earlier it was reported that Rubin has shifted his focus from Android to robots. However, the news does not come as a shock as last year in March he left the Android group and was replaced by Sundar Pichai. The Journal further reports that he is leaving to create an incubator for hardware startups. After his exist his position will be taken up by James Kuffner, a research scientist at the company and a professor at Carnegie Mellon University.

Google’s CEO Larry Page wished him luck for the future endeavours and also thanked him for all his work and efforts. He also said that he created Android which is something remarkable and has made billion plus users happy with it. Rubin worked at Google for almost a decade. He joined the company in 2005 at the time when Google secretly acquired Android. He made this startup project a huge success for the tech giant. Android is presently the most dominant operating system across the globe.

Before joining Google he worked at Danger the company which creates Sidekick mobile phone. He also worked with other prestigious organisations like Apple, General Magic. He also created a WebTV project, which he later sold to Microsoft. His news of first quitting the job at Google surfaced in 2012. However, later on the news was denied by him and the company.
