Aqua Comms Limited (AquaComms) announces that cable for its America Europe Connect (AEConnect) subsea fiber optic system is being succesffully deployed by TE SubCom – a body of TE Connectivity Limited Company. The Company is loading this state-of-the-art cable system from its factory in Newington, New Hampshire, U.S., onto its cable ship Reliance, one of eight cable-laying ships the company owns and operates.  This significant milestone will be celebrated in Newington with guided tours of the factory and ship.

AEConnect will span more than 5,400 km beneath the Atlantic Ocean with branching units for future landings and will interconnect with CeltixConnect, an Irish Sea subsea cable wholly owned by AquaComms, providing extended connectivity to the U.K., and greater Europe.  When complete, the system will connect Point of Presence (PoP) locations in North America and Europe.

Talking on the deployment, Greg Varisco, COO of AquaComms said, “When TE SubCom’s ship leaves port, AquaComms’ vision to build and operate a diversified, solution-based network that will serve global data centers, cloud-based networks and content providers will be but 5,400 km and a few months of hard work from becoming a reality.”  “This is truly a momentous milestone in the present and future state of connectivity between North America, Europe and beyond, and we thank TE SubCom, our foundational customers and investors in joining us on this historic journey.”
