Atlantis Computing’s first in-memory software-defined storage solution

atlantisSAN FRANCISCO: VMworld Partner Exchange – Atlantis Computing, the spearhead in software-defined storage with 500,000 VM licenses sold globally with a clientele base reading up to more than 440 consumers, pronounced its next-generation Atlantis ILIO USX (Unified Software-defined Storage) solution purpose-built intended for virtualized server workloads such as databases, followed by mail, collaboration, big data and any line of business application, while continuing to provide industry-leading optimization products meant for desktop virtualization.

The software empowers customers to array up to five times more VMs on their standing storage, enhances performance and upsurges the flexibility as to how storage is consumed in the virtualized datacenter. Atlantis ILIO USX is the only in-memory software-defined storage solution that can pool and augment any class of storage counting SAN, NAS, RAM or for that matter any type of DAS (SSD, Flash, SAS, SATA) to produce hybrid, hyper-converged or all-flash storage from existing datacenter resources.

VM world“The exponential growth of virtualized servers is leading to rapidly increasing datacenter storage requirements. Moreover, storage is purchased to meet the needs of each specific application, creating inefficient silos such as SAN, NAS and Flash storage. IT organizations are struggling to buy, manage and operate this much disparate storage,” held Mr. Torsten Volk, Research director, Enterprise Management Associates.

He rhetoricised further that – “Software-defined storage will dramatically increase the efficiency of all datacenter storage, allowing IT organizations to get more out of their existing storage and moving forward, the flexibility to transform commodity hardware into enterprise-class storage.”
