Automation and Process Control to center-stage at Honeywell India Users Summit

Honeywell Process Solutions (HPS) at its Honeywell India Users Summit, Aug. 24 and 25 in Mumbai to showcase its latest developments in automation and process control at the Honeywell India Users Summit, Aug. 24 and 25 in Mumbai. More than 170 representatives from across process automation industries will attend the annual event.

The summit will focus on issues facing manufacturers in India, including the changing economic environment, increasing connectivity and the need for real-time insights that can improve operations. Attendees to the event represent critical industries such as refining, petrochemicals, oil and gas, chemicals, power, and minerals and metals.

Among the technologies that will be highlighted during the summit include:

– Honeywell Industrial Cyber Security Risk Manager – the first digital dashboard designed to proactively monitor, measure and manage cyber security risk for process control systems

– Assurance 360 services – a new approach to plant maintenance that focuses on system performance and outcome. This service helps maintain, support and optimize the performance of Honeywell control systems regardless of the industry or size of operations.

– UniSim Competency Suite – the newest edition to the UniSim training family speeds operator competency through realistic training experiences, such as 3D virtual environments, for console and field operators in the process industries.

– DynAMo Alarm and Operations Suite – software that leverages more than 20 years of alarm management experience in the process industries to help users reduce overall alarm count by as much as 80 percent, identify maintenance issues and increase visibility of critical alarms that require urgent attention.

Talking on this summit, Bruce Calder, chief technology officer for HPS said, “According to recent research by Accenture, the IIoT could contribute US$14.2 trillion to world output by 2030. India has immense potential of benefitting from the technology if it improves its infrastructure and skills that will help support the adoption of new technologies.” “Honeywell has been leveraging the concepts and technologies behind the IIoT as part of the vision that we have been evolving towards for several years.”

HPS will showcase next-generation technologies for digital transformation, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and best-practices in process control and automation that can help manufacturers improve business performance.

“With increasing connectivity, there is an immediate need for cyber security solutions that take a measured approach to managing the industrial IT lifecycle,” said Vikas Chadha, managing director, Honeywell Automation India Limited and HPS India leader.“Increasing plant reliability by using next generation cyber security solutions will be critical.”
