Avaya introduces SDN architecture to strengthen Digital India initiate


Avaya the provider of various software solutions has introduced an open software-defined networking (SDN) architecture with the objective to help the Indian government delivering on its digital inclusion vision. The company stated that, the Avaya SDN Fx architecture is the first of kind solution to provide “smart foundation” required to connect anything, anywhere. This new solution is created on Avaya Fabric Networking technology the architecture features new products and capabilities for a complete solution.

The Avaya SDN Fx architecture incorporates the Open Networking Adapter which offers a plug-n-play network connection for the devices with an Ethernet port. The solution automatically provisions a QoS-customized virtual path across the network that mitigates security risks, allowing simple, powerful management of thousands of devices.

The Fabric Orchestrator regulates and orchestrates the Ethernet fabric as well as delivers SDNControl to north and south bound interfaces. SDN capabilities include OpenFlow, OpenDaylight and OpenStack.
