BICS Inks an Agreement with SFR
BICS, an international communications company has recently collaborated with French mobile operator SFR for enlarging the worldwide coverage of NB IoT connectivity. This partnership expansion will support BICS to directly set 2G, 3G, 4G, NB-IoT and LTE-M/Cat-M1 connectivity in the devices of OEMs and IoT players via BICS’ SIM for Things IoT global solution.
The CMO and VP mobility & IoT, BICS, Mikaël Schachne emphasized that they are focusing to provide best choice and pliability to the IoT industry, worldwide. “By capitalising on our relationships with mobile operators around the world, BICS is uniquely placed to provide companies global 2G, 3G, 4G, NB-IoT and LTE-M connectivity to make IoT deployment simple, reliable, flexible and cost effective.”
What is NB-IoT
A narrowband radio technology for M2M, IoT devices and applications, which require wireless transmission over a more extended range at a relatively low cost and using little power for long battery lives, is known as NB-IoT.
For NB-IoT applications, a small data volume amounts need to be transmitted unusually, it became a standard for this type of wireless communications in 2016, and in recent time mobile operators are deploying network capabilities enabling narrowband-IoT coverage for their customers.
