Bing showcases Salman Khan as the most searched person in India for 2013

REDMOND, USA: Looking back at 2013 that’s going to take a humble bow very soon, billions of searches on the digital platform of Bing from around the globe reveals that it is but a year of American ballads, followed by superhero themed flicks, Facebook propelled love, snazzy designer brands, sports stars with controversies looming large above them, tempting European getaways coupled with media projected stereotypes concerning feisty women.

The Bing search trends from its part, brings to the fore what has captivated people the world over, this year, that is. Nonetheless, reports include search data from countries reading in the order of Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Spain, the U.K. and last but not the least the U.S.

Interestingly, Ladies appeared to rule the all of 2013, since it was seen that a woman was the most-searched person over the Internet of the year in eight of the 12 participating countries around the world – Croonstress Beyoncé reigned in the U.S., while contemporary Miley Cyrus’ highly publicized twerking genre of Dance at her onstage performance meteorically enough made her the top -searched person in both Australia as well as Canada.

Former flames Justin Bieber along with Selena Gomez were the most-searched people in the U.K. and Germany, respectively. Actress and actors were not left far behind when Bruna Marquezine, Wen Zhang and Salman Khan emerged as the most-searched people in Brazil, China and India, while Pop stars Rihanna and David Bisbal achieved a slot each at the top this time for France and Spain, while stunning TV personalities Danmitsu and Belen Rodriguez were sheer favorites in Japan and Italy.

As a finishing touch to these dramas of Cult Personalities and with an amazing Super Bowl performance – including a reunion with R&B Girl group Destiny’s Child – Beyonce went on to charm the Americans this 2013 and surfaced as the most-searched person on Bing at the States.  Seen this way, she earned not only the sobriquet of the most-searched person, but the most-searched music artiste as well.

Fellow musician Rihanna also cruised in to come out near the top of the list for 2013, earning both the No. 3 spot as the most-searched person and No. 2 for the most-searched artiste. Newcomers to the top 10 this year comprise a popularity headcount in the order of Amanda Bynes at No. 8, Madonna at No. 5 and President Barack Obama, hailed otherwise as the most powerful man in the world being the President of the United States stood at No. 10. Taylor Swift’s Choc – a – Bloc of a year in the public eye and fans alike enabled her to take the biggest leap in the rankings game, going from No. 10 in 2012, the previous year, to a near comprehensive No. 4 this year.
