BlackBerry has rolled out yet another enterprise QWERTY smartphone in the Indian market, BlackBerry Classic at a price point of Rs 31,990. Those who have used BlackBerry in the past may feel a bit nostalgic seeing this new entrant as it takes you back to the trackpad days with a full control over the device using the keypad, however, the screen is touchable. BlackBerry Classic is available only through Snapdeal.com but thankfully, there is no registration and sale process that is gaining momentum these days.
On the specification front, the device sports a 3.5-inch touch display, coated with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and with a resolution of 720x720p. Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus processor and 2GB of RAM. It is further incorporated with 16GB of on-board storage that is expandable up to 128GB using a MicroSD card. What makes the device unique is its backlit keypad that consists of 35 keys. For photography enthusiasts there is an 8-megapixel rear snapper and a 2-megapixel selfie camera. Ticking the device is a 2,515 mAh battery.
This all new Classic smartphone runs on BlackBerry 10.3.1 OS which also brings along a lot many enterprise features like BlackBerry Blend that lets you share messages and content from your smartphone to any PC or tablet. BlackBerry Assistant allows one to use voice and text commands to access both personal and work content. Then comes the BlackBerry Hub that manages all your conversations under one roof, be it an email, text, phone calls, BBM or any social media platform.
BlackBerry Classic is being touted as an upgrade to BlackBerry Bold 9900 by the company that is currently available at around Rs 28,000 on e-commerce sites.
If it is an enterprise phone that you wish to have and if Blackberry Passport doesn’t fit in your budget, then Classic comes out as a decent choice.
