BlackBerry and Idea

BlackBerry has entered into a strategic partnership with the Indian telecom operator Idea Cellular to provide improved SIM-based licensing (ESBL) in India. The objective of the association is to enable Idea Cellular to resell BlackBerry EMM services licensing as a bundled offer in a similar manner as MMS and SMS. This further allows the telco to provide a monthly billing model with daily proration.

As reported by Reuters, Sashi Shankar, CMO Ideal Cellular stated that, with the new ESBL service, Idea will become a hot spot for customers looking for devices, data plans and software and services. The partnership will also help the company to offer the enterprise segment with a differentiated, affordable and seamless EMM solution.
