Brocade appoints of Kevin Shatzkamer as Distinguished Engineer and CTO
Brocade has announced the appointment of Kevin Shatzkamer as the Distinguished Engineer and CTO Mobile Networking for the company. He will be working with customer CTOs to develop new operational models to quickly realize revenue-generating services through the use of emerging technologies, such as Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV).
Speaking about the appointment, Ken Cheng, CTO and VP, Corporate Development at Brocade, said “As Brocade continues to focus on the needs of mobile carriers, Kevin’s advanced understanding of the mobile, cloud, and digital media trends impacting their networks will prove to be an invaluable resource for our customers. Kevin’s extensive background will be critical as customers seek to navigate the networking landscape while optimizing their business models for the future.”
Shatzkamer bring along with him 15 years of experience in analyzing the impact of cloud, mobile, and digital media on the networks of service providers. Moreover, he also has 50 mobile networking patents granted or issued. Before joining Brocade he worked with Cisco as a Distinguished Engineer. Presently, he serves as a board advisor for a number of companies, including DataRPM, Voltserver, and Penthera Partners.
