Samsung Electronics has lately announced to ink an acquisition deal with US cloud computing stratup company Joyent – a U.S.-based provider of cloud computing solutions.
Tongue-tied on the actual sum of the deal – Currently, the South Korean Heavyweight is said to rely on AWS, Amazon’s cloud company to provide cloud storage and other benefits to its customers. With this acquisition, the company is sought to bring its own cloud platform supporting its huge range of consumer products portfolio.
Samsung has made three recent acquisitions of a US start-up – striving to mark perennial growth scopes as global smartphone market slows. Almost all Samsung’s mobile handsets are powered by Google’s Android software and past efforts to develop and promote its own software platform have largely fizzled out.
Though Samsung is a major manufacturer of solid state storages, the new cloud journey is reckon to bring new directions for the company’s offering.
