VMware and TCS have entered into a strategic business partnership. As per the deal both the companies will jointly create pre-integrated and pre-tested solutions to accelerate the adoption and deployment of enterprise scale applications as well as end user computing solutions running on a software-defined data center architecture powered by VMware infrastructure. Through this partnership the companies wants to help the enterprises to achieve different IT outcomes for lower operating costs, increased performance, availability, reliability, security, and faster service delivery. Initially, the collaboration will provide offerings for SAP, Oracle, and Enterprise Analytics.
Speaking about the partnership, Todd Surdey, vice president, Strategic Alliances and Emerging Partners, VMware said, “VMware is proud to extend its relationship with TCS. VMware and TCS are helping guide our mutual customers into this new era of IT by combining the architecture, technology and services that are making the software-defined enterprise a reality,” said Sanjay Mirchandani, senior vice president and general manager, Asia Pacific and Japan, VMware. “We are working together to provide complementary expertise in application workloads and infrastructure, combined with VMware’s software-defined technologies that will help companies accelerate their time-to-value.”
On the other hand, Raman Venkatraman, Vice President and Global Head of Alliances and Technology Unit, TCS said, “With the VMware infrastructure and converged cloud services offerings, TCS will be able to rapidly design, transform and operate traditional IT into software-defined data centers, and deploy mission-critical enterprise workloads in weeks versus years. TCS’ proven expertise to drive applications led infrastructure transformation with a programmable model can now leverage VMware’s technologies to simplify and standardize application workload driven IT transformations.”
As per the agreement, TCS will provide architectural design, transformation, and operational expertise to allow customers to transform their business and applications. However, VMware will provide the industry’s most complete software-defined data center portfolio, including virtualized compute, network and storage utilizing VMware vSphere, VMware NSX, VMware Virtual SAN and VMware vRealize Suite. The companies will also work together in creating a new global customer Center of Excellence (CoE) with two data center locations in Milford, Ohio and Pune, India.
