D-Link raises the bar with QRS mobile app
D-Link today declared a new update to its QRS (Quick Router Setup) Mobile App that makes configuring a home network even easier.
Patrons setting up a QRS Mobile-enabled router, access point or Wi-Fi range extender will be able to do so right from their iPhone, iPad or Android device sans the need for a computer. Featuring a streamlined design, step-by-step instructions and new features such as firmware push notifications and Wi-Fi profile sharing, the QRS Mobile app gets users connected quickly and easily.
“The QRS Mobile app has always allowed D-Link customers set up their routers with ease,” held Ken Loyd, director of consumer product marketing, D-Link Systems, Inc. Supplementing that – “With the latest update, we’ve brought even more flexibility and functionality to the setup process, allowing users to set up their router right from their smartphone or tablet.”
Following the app’s step-by-step instructions, users can now configure a network, set a device password, facilitate firmware notifications, and save and share network name and password information all from a smartphone or tablet. Furthermore, the QRS Mobile app allows users to register for a free mydlink account for monitoring and controlling their home network from virtually anywhere.
The QRS Mobile App delivers a range of features to streamline network setup as well as, viz:
- Quick Setup Wizard – Featuring a streamlined design, the QRS setup wizard guides users step-by-step through the entire network configuration process.
- Optional Firmware Push Notifications – Users can choose to be notified when new firmware is available for their router so it’s always up-to-date.
- Wi-Fi Profile Sharing – Once network names and passwords have been set, users can share and save this information for quick reference.
- Integrated mydlink Registration – Users wishing to sign up for a free mydlink account can do so from within the QRS Mobile app.
