DELL EMC PowerEdge Servers Rev Up Vxrail Hyper-Converged Infrastructure For Customer Choice

VXRAIL

Dell EMC integrates Dell EMC PowerEdge servers with its hyper-converged infrastructure portfolio to help customers move forward by incorporating the technology they want and become more agile, flexible and competitive.

In its recent announcement, the two companies is known to vertically integrate all the critical ingredients of the hyper-converged infrastructure stack, from hyper-converged software to the latest server technology innovations and will deliver increased choice, wider use cases, lower entry price points, and improved all-flash economics for its customers.

To meet the needs of dynamic changing HCI, the new portfolio of HCI touts to support a much wider variety of customer use cases is the right way forward.

Customers opting for Dell EMC VxRail Appliances will now benefit from the performance and reliability of PowerEdge servers with the latest Intel Broadwell platforms and a new 3-node entry for a lower starting point. New addressable use cases include:

  • Storage heavy workloads including Big Data Analytics and Microsoft Exchange can take advantage of high capacity VxRail nodes
  • Graphics-heavy client virtualization workloads that require increasing levels of performance will benefit from VxRail nodes with GPU acceleration
  • Remote Office/Branch Office environments can leverage cost-optimized nodes to simplify IT management at multiple remote sites

For the Dell EMC VxRack System, two new PowerEdge-based configurations are available, both of which can be configured with all-flash, storage only, or hybrid. Compared to previous VxRack System all-flash node configuration options, PowerEdge servers provide better all-flash economics, application acceleration and unparalleled value.

All VxRail Appliances and VxRack System customers, regardless of size, can take advantage of Dell EMC synergies to deliver hyper-converged solutions for their data center core and edge locations. Adding more value, Dell EMC’s hyper-converged portfolio of appliances and racks is optimized for both traditional and cloud-native workloads running in mixed environments.

Dell EMC is also facilitating investment protection for customers. They can buy existing appliances and racks and new PowerEdge-based systems, and mix and match these nodes in a cluster as required, and, if they want, upgrade to newer architectures over time.

The addition of PowerEdge servers in the VxRail and VxRack portfolios will deliver real customer value by innovating fast, leveraging the company’s world-class supply chain to drive down costs, and offering its customers increased choice and flexibility.
