Synopsys, the provider of software, IP and services used in innovating new chips and electronic systems has announced its Synopsys Verification IP (VIP) for the Ethernet 1G/10G/40G/100G protocol service has been adopted by Emulex, the network connectivity company. This service of Synopsys is based on its native System Verilog and native UVM architecture, which provide ease of use along with proper performance, configurability and coverage. Moreover, the Synopsys VIP for Ethernet also has support for Synopsys’ Protocol Analyzer, a protocol-centric debug environment. This service of the company will decrease the time consumed in protocol verification and will also boast productivity.
Margie Evashenk, chief development executive, Emulex said, “We adopted Synopsys verification IP because time-to-market and the ability to deliver the highest speeds and newest features to our customers are critical. We have collaborated with Synopsys over many project generations for the verification of our Ethernet-controllers, and trust them to provide the emerging Ethernet speeds, features, compliance test suites and ease-of-integration that enable us to hit our aggressive project schedules.”
On the other hand, Debashis Chowdhury, vice president of R&D for the Synopsys Verification Group said, “With the growing size and complexity of today’s SoCs, Verification IP is becoming an increasingly important technology to help customers verify their chip designs. Synopsys’ portfolio of 100 percent native System Verilog VIP provides system-on-chip (SoC) teams with the verification and compliance environments for industry protocols they need to build and verify differentiated products and accelerate their time to market.”
The service is available from today onwards and the Ethernet VIP and the UNH test suites, in source-code, are available to standalone title owners, as part of the Synopsys VIP Library, and as part of Verification Compiler.
