Epson rated as No.1 projector brand by CMR

epson logoEpson has revealed that it has attained the position of No. 1 projector brand in India in H2 FY 2013-14 as per the latest CyberMedia Research (CMR). The report was out earlier this month and it highlights volume market share of 23% and a value market share of 27% for Epson. The share of the company has grown in both the spheres. This makes Epson as the worldwide leader in projectors with a volume market share of 28.4% in FY 2013.

Speaking about this achievement, Samba Moorthy, Director, Sales & Marketing at Epson India said, “We have been going from strength to strength in the Indian market. We are by far the biggest projector brand in India now, just as we are in the rest of the world. With projectors that offer superior Colour Brightness and with a fantastic range of projectors for corporates, educational institutions and for home we expect to continue to drive rapid growth in this market in the years to come.”

The report further suggests that, the India digital projector market recorded sales of 198,226 units. The projector segment covered 13 brands, in this state of tough competition, Epson managed to raise its volume market share from 13.2% to 23% in a short span of two years. The sectors which fostered the demand for projectors is the education sector and the home theater projectors as per the CMR report.

Commenting on this growth, Epson India feels that, “the company will continue to focus on Enterprise, Education and Home segments in 2014-15.  For the enterprise segment Epson said it has improved ease of use, portability and efficiency in its projectors for business meetings. Projectors with high functionality, thin and lightweight form factor, and with automatic screen adjustment features, all at attractive price points, make them the preferred choice with corporates.”

On the other hand, for the education segment, the company will thrive to provide value for educators with products that make it easy-to-understand and easy-to-teach thereby making students more interested in learning. Lastly, for the home based entertainment the company will introduce superb image quality of its home theatre projectors to offer enhanced movie and sports viewing capability to enthusiasts. Moreover, the company is also focusing on the 3D projector segment in order to grab more market share and also to enhance the user experience.
