Amplus Solar had reported that India’s Union Cabinet Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy, Raj Kumar Singh, delivered the keynote speech at EnergyScape, a leading financial daily’s Annual Energy Conclave.
He expressed his candid views on the need for clean energy along with investment in storage, the accelerated deployment of renewable energy and the impact of climate change, at the prestigious event that was held at Taj Mahal Hotel, Man Singh Road, New Delhi.
“Life will come to a standstill without energy. We can’t have industries without energy. Energy is the key to our future, our prosperity and our livelihood,” said the Hon’ble Minister in his opening comments.
“It is extremely important that we change our rules, regulations and laws, to keep pace with emerging technologies,” said Sanjeev Aggarwal, Managing Director & CEO, Amplus Solar.
The conclave revolved around discussions on vital factors affecting the growth trajectory of the renewables sector, reordering India’s energy mix through new fuel sources, boosting the country’s self-reliance efforts, progress that the country has made in meeting the national renewable targets, while staying committed to meeting climate goals under the Paris Agreement, among others.
The Panels for the two discussions were attended by distinguished speakers including Alok Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of Power, Sanjeev Aggarwal, Managing Director & CEO, Amplus Solar, Mahua Acharya, Managing Direction & CEO, CESL, Vishal Mehta, Managing Director & Partner, BCG.
The conclave was attended by key policymakers, industry captains, academicians, top bureaucrats and opinion leaders to exchange ideas and generate actionable solutions to the most pressing issues in the renewables sector.
In addition to these inevitable discussions, Amplus Solar also announced the much-awaited results of The MILES (M+ Innovation Lab for Energy and Sustainability) Challenge. Virya Batteries, with their ultra-safe lithium-ion and sodium-ion cell technology, SmartHelio, with their edge-based IoT sensor and intelligent software for increasing the life of solar PV and batteries, and Vecmocon Technologies with their innovations around the core components of electric vehicles, were announced as the winners.
The challenge was launched in January 2021 in association with GoMassive Earth Network, an angel investor forum focused on sustainability, to provide participants mentorship and access to resources in the Energy Industry. Ernst & Young LLP was the Process Advisors for the innovation challenge.
