Flex Power Modules Launches Compact 3kW BMR352 DC/DC Converter
Flex output Modules, USA, produced the “BMR352” converter, a non-isolated, fully regulated quarter-brick DC/DC converter with a peak output of up to 3kW and a small footprint of 58.4 x 36.8 x 14.5 mm. It achieves an impressive peak efficiency of 97.9% while supporting an input voltage range of 40V to 60V and a regulated output of 12.2V. It is perfect for situations with limited space because of its small size, which enables smooth integration into confined areas. This lesson is essential for engineers and system designers working on power-hungry applications such as AI servers, machine learning platforms, and high-performance graphics processing units (GPUs).
The converter, which is a component of the ninth generation digital quarter bricks, offers five times the power density of its predecessors, marking a substantial improvement over previous generations. “The module is designed for power-intensive operations, with a continuous power output of 2kW and the capacity to peak at 3kW,” the developers wrote.
Its unique baseplate design, which improves thermal management without adding height, is a noteworthy feature. It also supports through-hole mounting methods such as pin-in-paste manufacturing and wave soldering.
These modules’ versatility is enhanced by the ability to simulate, configure, and monitor performance using a power management bus interface thanks to interoperability with Flex Power Designer software. These developments provide unparalleled performance and dependability in response to the expanding needs of data centers and GPU-driven systems.
