Foxconn pool resources with Mozilla to Develop Firefox 0S tablets

Mumbai / Bangalore: Foxconn, world’s principal manufacturer of computer components and systems, today announced its alliance with Mozilla to develop tablets based on Firefox OS tablets. On the record, Taiwan-based chipmaker VIA Technologies will be joining the project.

This partnership is thrust towards offering hardware, software and application designers opportunities to develop Firefox OS-based products. Mozilla will from its quarter, provide operating system (OS), development guides and OS upgrades and maintenance, while Foxconn will provide its expertise in developing hardware platforms.

With Foxconn’s high-quality and inexpensive tablets and Mozilla’s broadly available software Firefox OS, the product could become one among the top players in the tablet market, especially in developing countries.
