Foxconn allies with NTU, Stimulates Biochemical Development in Taiwan
Mumbai / Bangalore: Foxconn, the Globe’s primary manufacturer of computer components and systems, has pronounced that Terry Guo, chairman, Foxconn Group besides being the originator of Yong Lin Health Care Foundation has contracted with National Taiwan University (NTU) for rendering assistance in order to uphold biomedical realm oriented expansion in Taiwan.
The foundation will bequeath a total of NT$10 billion (US$333 million) to fund the instituting of the Yong Lin Biomedical Engineering Center, a 500-bed cancer therapeutic hospital to be functioned by NTU and a radiation science and proton therapy center, with the biomedical engineering center to be initiated in March 2014.
Yong Lin Biomedical Engineering Center will join forces with NTU to recruit more than 100 biomedical professionals from round the world to embark on the odyssey of biomedical research in cancer therapeutics. The foundation will also offer NT$5 billion to upkeep the engineering center’s research in cell therapy, followed by radiation medicine, smart hospital, prevention medicine, medical electronics and last but not the least biomedical materials.
