GAC Motor Cull Spirent Solutions to Test Automotive Ethernet Compliance
Robust vehicle functions through strict conformity and performance tests
Spirent Communications announced that GAC Motor Company has selected the Spirent test solutions to test next-generation network connectivity for vehicles.
Automobile Ethernet networks are being introduced by supplier companies worldwide. Following GAC Motor’s decision to provide novel vehicle functions that meet the high expectations of its customers, the choice of the Spirent test system with C50 Appliance and the TTworkbench automation tool was a logical step in supporting the development and verification of automotive Ethernet systems and to determine the best ethernet designs for its vehicles.
With the help of Spirent solutions, the compliance of Ethernet controllers with the OPEN Alliance TC8 test cases and the latest TSN (Time-Sensitive Networking) protocols can be verified. For this application, Spirent provides the fully integrated test development and execution environment Spirent TTworkbench, which can be used for all types of test automation projects. In combination with the Spirent C50 appliance, TTworkbench offers a wide range of features such as DUT monitoring and simulation. It supports all international standard test cases, including the OPEN Alliance TC8 test series and IEEE 802.1 TSN protocols, which are indispensable for GAC Motor.
“Spirent TTworkbench and its easy-to-use test environment will help GAC Motor provide robust support for TSN and advanced networking applications through automotive Ethernet networks,” said Thomas Schulze, director of marketing and business development for Spirent’s automotive division. “With the increasing connectivity and autonomy of vehicles, Spirent enables automakers to easily test their devices in various development and validation phases, and simplifies the path to certification.”
