Google launches mobile app for SMBs

The tech giant Google has introduced an application named Google My Business for the small and medium enterprises. The app will help the SMBs and MSMEs to construct their internet presence. The app will guide them to update their business information on Google search, maps and Googel+ both in Hindi and English languages.

The Google My Business app will enable the SMBs to increase their customer base and manage the operation with the help of a smartphone. India has 48 million SMBs, out of which 8-10 million could use this app for an online presence. Suryanarayana Kodukulla, head of SMB sales, Google India, stated that, we will initiate plans to bring the SMBs close to the internet. All around the world 2 million of the businesses use the internet as a medium to find their potential buyers.

India has a vast user base of the internet users, and this is due to the increasing penetration of the smartphones. Presently, there are 250 million internet users who will increase to 350 million by next year. Kodukulla further added that, within the next 1.5 years India will become the second largest internet market after China, and during this phase the app will help the SMBs to grow further. The Google My Business app is available for free download on Android and iOS.
