Konica Minolta Business Solutions India has announced its acquisition with the production printing business of Chennai-based Monotech Systems (MSL ) to grow bigger in the digital production printing business. Starting 1st June, the Monotech Systems’ entire manpower involved in this business will be transferred to Konica Minolta India. The company did not disclose any financial value of the acquisition.
Monotech Systems was one of the four representatives of Konica Minolta in the country and has been instrumental in the company’s growth in the last couple of years. The other three distributors of Konica Minolta are TechNova Imaging Systems Limited, KMI Business Technologies Private Limited and HCL Infosystems Limited. And they will continue to be its valued business associates and operate as earlier.
“Konica Minolta and Monotech were in conversation to take this partnership forward, and finally, we have formed this venture. This is the first time since our establishment in India that we are coming directly to the market. We found it to be the right time,” said Yuji Nakata, M.D, Konica Minolta India.
He further added, “The Production Printing market in India has been rapidly growing and we have played a leadership role in developing the market. We have now set ambitious targets for ourselves and the MSL acquisition will provide us a platform to directly create new value for our customers, and achieve higher levels of customer satisfaction.”
Konica Minolta, which has 4offices in India so far, now will also operate at least 40 locations providing direct Sales & Service support to its customers.

Nakata said that the major aim behind the acquisition is to move nearer to the customers, and help them develop value. “We want to expand the frontiers of the digital world,” said Nakata, adding, “We want to contribute to the growth of the Indian printing industry.”
It’s worth noting, that for more than a decade, MSL has been a leading manufacturer and supplier of high-end, high-performance and reliable products and solutions for printing and packaging industry.
