Hewlett-Packard to Split – Official Announcement on Nov 1


Hewlett-Packard announces it will work as a two separate independent companies although the final split is projected on Nov.1. HP is required by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to begin operating independently three months prior the formal legal separation.

According to the learning, the split is in the backdrop of segregating the organizational structure of each company, facilitating faster decision making. As independent companies, each of Hewlett Packard Enterprise and HP Inc. will be able to focus its capital deployment and investment strategies and implement an appropriate capital structure to meet the needs of its business.

Hewlett-Packard Enterprise to take care of enterprise systems, storage, services and software and HP Inc. to focus on PC and printing business that includes notebooks and workstations.

On the channel front, the team HP India to assure that partners has a smooth transition and adopt the process with the company. The commercial team of PPS is conducting partners roundtable and update its partners on the new changes.

The company is looking to complete the partners transition by August 2015.

In March, 2015 HP India had made several enhancement to its channel program. Here is the list of key changes, HP has made ahead of the split of the business:

Globally, the company has announced new channel programs at the recent Global Global Partner Conference held in Las Vegas as a launch pad for several new initiatives centered on helping partners ease into the upcoming split, including its HP Navigator program and the HP AllianceOne Partner program.

HP earlier introduced the HP Partner Navigator Program, which will help distributors and the reseller network maintain business continuity through HP’s separation. With resources including dedicated HP Partner Support Centers, the HP Partner Navigator Program will enable all HP authorized partners to continue to deliver the operational excellence and high standards their customers have come to expect.
