Hinduja Global Solutions (HGS) acquires significant portion of Mphasis India domestic BPM business

Leading IT services provider Mphasis has announced to transfer of significant portion of its domestic business, subject to regulatory approvals, to Hinduja Global Solutions (HGS).

The acquisition will strengthen HGS’ presence in India by adding newer service capabilities and marquee clients in the telecom and banking & financial services (BFS) verticals while bringing in over 7,000 customer experience professionals. With the addition of Mphasis’s seven delivery centres across six cities – Noida, Raipur, Indore, Mangalore, Pune, and Bangalore will help HGS gain a stronger delivery footprint in the country.

Mphasis has set up dedicated unit to ensure smooth transfer for all employees. Elango R, Chief Human Resources Officer, and Head Emerging Geographies Business Unit of Mphasi in a statement said “there would be no loss of jobs or headcount reduction.”

On signing of a definitive agreement to transfer of a significant portion of Mphasis domestic business Ganesh Ayyar, CEO of Mphasis said “focus and specialisation will be key to success in the new Digital world. I am happy to see that with this agreement, Mphasis will further intensify our focus in Digital, Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC), Application Maintenance Services (AMS) and Infrastructure Services (IS). HGS’ specialisation will bring excellent value to the in-scope domestic customers and employees in India.
