HP has recently announced updates to its Helion portfolio, stating that the update will facilitate in helping the enterprise to realize the benefits of transitioning, especially to the hybrid infrastructure.
The update was announced at the HP Discover 2015 event, where HP also revealed its HP-Helion-Portfolio Helion CloudSystem 9.0 along with an integrated enterprise cloud solution and offers enhancements to HP Helion Managed Cloud Services that in turn will help in managing enterprise workloads in a best possible and within secure hosted cloud environment.
Narayanan Chellappan, Country Director, Cloud Division, HP India stated that, “Enterprise customers have a range of needs in moving to the cloud—some need to cloud-enable traditional workloads, while others seek to build next generation ‘cloud native’ apps using modern technologies like Open Stack, Cloud Foundry and Docker.”
“The expanded support for multiple hypervisors and cloud environments in HP Helion CloudSystem 9.0 gives enterprises and service providers added flexibility to gain cloud benefits for their existing and new applications.”
The latest update HP Helion CloudSystem 9.0 will offer support for multiple clouds and multiple hypervisors. It will also help in integrating HP Helion Open Stack and HP Helion Development Platform in order to provide the consumers with an enterprise based open source platform that offers support to cloud native application development and infrastructure.
HP’s Helion CloudSystem 9.0 can be availed as standalone software that will support different vendor hardware environment and used as a hyper-converged or fully-integrated blade-based infrastructure with HP ConvergedSystem.
The Helion CloudSystem 9.0 will be available later this year. Moreover, customers can avail HP Financial Services’ IT investment and consumption offerings to help enterprises acquire HP Helion CloudSystem 9.0, in accordance with their hybrid IT transformation strategy.
It is expected that the HP Helion Managed Cloud Services will be launched into Beta HP Helion Eucalyptus Managed Private Cloud and HP HelionOpenStack Managed Private Cloud; that can be used as services via an easy access portal.
Apart from these new Beta offerings, HP Helion Managed Cloud Services can also support the development of cloud native applications but not beyond the managed cloud service through the HP Helion Development Platform along with automation of select virtual private cloud services.
