Huawei and China Mobile announce deployment of world’s first LTE TDD 8TR8R
Huawei along with China Mobile has revealed successful placement of the world’s first LTE TDD 8TR8R Active Antenna Unit (AAU) in Hebei, China. This all new enhanced AAU streamlines installation and also enhances the cell edge download rate by 55 percent in the field tests. Huawei’s AAU series also incorporates the antenna unit and also the radio unit (RUU) in one box. The two units combined together will free the operator from the hassle of installing two separate units.
Furthermore, this enhanced installation will also decrease the ongoing maintenance costs and the level of site space required. The Huawei AAU products will now be available across the globe for LTE TDD-enabled operators. The company has already deployed its AAU solutions in over 10 countries including the UK, Germany, Singapore and Russia. Moreover, China Mobile is the leading LTE TDD operator is the first one to go for Huawei’s LTE TDD AAU with a total of 10,000 Huawei 4T4R AAU units in 2013. Apart from this the operator also plans to expand this deployment further.
The year 2014 is witnessing an increase in the deployment of LTE service all around the globe. Talking about the LTE deployment, it is worth noticing that Huawei has signed up more than 300 commercial LTE contracts and deployed over 140 commercial LTE networks. Along with this the products from Huawei will enable the operators to provide superior quality services to the operators in the mobile and broadband sphere.
