After Deftronics consecutive success spree, IESA has come together with NASSCOM to host the third major edition of the annual Aerospace, Defense & Internal security event – DEFTRONICS 2016 on Aug 4 & 5, 2016 at The Ritz Carlton, Bengaluru.
To promulgate under the theme of Building India’s Strategic Electronics ecosystem for greater self-reliance and global relevance – Defense, Aerospace and Internal Security sectors. This year summit is said to congregate advocates from the government, the industry, the academia and the global arena with business networking opportunities with over 750 International and Domestic delegates and over 6 Countries.
Currently, India is majorly dependent on exports to accomplish its defense requirements, hence, this time two of the major bodies of India has looped to envision the colossal potential of the indigenous Aerospace & Defense sectors.
Primarily mulling on the opportunities in A&D and event will have focused sessions on Defense, Internal Security, Aerospace, Foreign Direct Investment, Defense Procurement Policy, Cyber Security, Design services, Opportunities arising from large deals, Defense Clusters & Perspective planning. The forum will also showcase success stories of various Indian & Multinational companies, Technology showcase by Start-ups, and many more.
The Global OEM and Indian companies alike are keen to leverage the opportunity of defense contracts, which reflects the success of initiatives like “Make in India”.

Vidyashankar, President, India Electronics & Semiconductor Association said, “India is the leading aerospace and defense market globally, dominated by imports from other nations. ‘Make in India’ has given a big push to domestic manufacturing in the space. The impact will be seen with some gestation due to complexities of electronics technology. We are glad that we will have the support of NASSCOM in building the domestic defense manufacturing, as India steadily transforms itself as a global superpower with defence self-reliance becoming an imperative in the near future.”
