IET Veteran harps on the Evolution of IoT
The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) hosted its annual IET Pinkerton lecture at Infosys Bangalore. Speakers addressed on the next evolution of the Internet, the paradox of forecasts and also trends relevant to India.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Robert Pepper, Vice President, Global Technology Policy, Cisco on the theme “Re-Imagining Society through the Internet of Everything”.
During the lecture, Dr. Pepper identified critical global challenges how the Internet of Everything (IoE) can help address them through digital technology and transforming data to actionable insights. He also highlighted the latest trends in India’s fixed and mobile IP networks and presented specific IoT use-cases. Dr. Pepper also talked about the challenges to seize the opportunity for Digital India including critical technology and public policy issues that can accelerate or stall the transformational benefits of IoE for India and the world.
Dr. Robert Pepper further added by saying “The world is going digital and IoT is redefining customization and innovation in engineering.
