The placement was multiple times over-subscribed. The bond has an annual coupon of 0.625% and a maturity of three years. “We are pleased about the great interest shown by many domestic and international investors. Following the recent upgrade of our rating to ’BBB, outlook stable’ by S&P Global, yesterday’s transaction was a resounding success,“ said Dr. Sven Schneider, Chief Financial Officer of Infineon.

The bond is issued in partial debentures in the nominal amount of €100,000 each and was placed exclusively with qualified institutional investors. The proceeds will be used for the refinancing of Euro-denominated capital market obligations.

As recently as June 2020, Infineon had placed corporate bonds with a volume of €2.9 billion under its EMTN program, in order to repay a large part of the bank loans incurred for the acquisition of Cypress Semiconductor Corporation.
