Kaspersky Internet Security halts cyber threats during independent test
In April, the valued AV-Comparatives independent testing laboratory put out the results entailing the File Detection Test of Malicious Software coxswained in March 2014. Kaspersky Lab’s protection solution aimed at home users, Kaspersky Internet Security 2014, steered the way for the number of blocked cyber threats.
Nothing like other AV-Comparatives tests, the authorities estimated one of the basic functions of a protection solution – its capacity to be able to detect and block dangerous software at the outset, when downloading or else copying it onto a device or for that matter for the period of on-demand scanning. Supplementary levels of protection as for instance remediation, followed by the behavioral analysis of running files, so and so forth are not taken into account.
In addition to the Kaspersky Lab product, 22 other antivirus solutions from primary vendors took part in the tests. The products nevertheless were allowed to access cloud-based services and scan all archives, plus files as well as folders on the computer. The database included 125,977 specially selected samples of malware, all of which were extensive in the preceding number of months.
The test demonstrated the fact that Kaspersky Internet Security blocked 99.8% of attacks, manifesting as a result which no other product could equal. This earned Kaspersky Lab’s solution the highest Advanced+ award courtesy; AV-Comparatives.
“In practice, a security solution will normally use a range of measures to ensure the device and its user’s data are safe from cyber threats. If malware does make it into the system, it can be stopped later, when it tries to launch its malicious activity. However, the earlier it is blocked, the better for the system and the user. This test conducted by AV-Comparatives demonstrates how effectively our solution detects malicious files before they have a chance to run, thus ensuring the highest possible levels of protection for our customers” alleged Oleg Ishanov, Director of Anti-Malware Research at Kaspersky Lab.
On record, this is not the only time Kaspersky Lab products have been honored with top scores from AV-Comparatives authorities. It noteworthy that in November 2013, Kaspersky Internet Security bagged the first place in the Whole Product Dynamic “Real-World” Protection and Malware Removal tests, and in January 2014 it was titled “Product of the Year”.
