Lenovo appoints Rahul Agarwal as Managing Director, elevates Amar Babu to COO Asia Pacific
Lenovo has appointed Rahul Agarwal as the Managing Director for Lenovo India; his new role is effective from June 29, 2015. The position was previously held by Amar Babu, who will now work as COO, Lenovo, Asia Pacific and Chairman, Lenovo India.
Agarwal takes charge at times when the Chinese firm is gearing up for its next phase of growth, foraying into the smart connected devices while maintaining keeping its focus on the PC segment. The company in a statement said that “India plays a key role in this transformation and therefore is an extremely critical market for the company.”
Rahul Agarwal has been the Executive Director, Commercial & Enterprise Business, Lenovo India, and has been heading the Commercial Business since April 2011. He managed many roles in sales and marketing, contributed in growing the brand in the country.

With the acquisition of Motorola Mobility and IBM x 86 businesses, Lenovo have the advantage to operate more effectively in the Indian market as an end-to-end devices player. The company’s recent launch of range of device in the country shows the company is poised to make India a growth engine in the enterprise and consumer technology market.
