Littelfuse Presents 400PV Photovoltaic Fuses

Littelfuse has introduced the 400PV Fuse series, a 2410 size, surface mount design (SMD) circuit protection component that offers low resistance for photovoltaic (PV) applications.

LittelfuseThe 400PV is specifically designed to address the latest trend in solar roofing by enabling PV shingles that integrate both the shingles with the PV cells while incorporating protection that meets the UL 248-19 standard for PV applications.

“The 400PV Fuse series innovation enables the next generation of smart home designs to utilize photovoltaic roof shingles to power up everything in a house that requires power,” said Boris Golubovic, Vice President, Marketing and Strategy at Littelfuse. “The protection provided by these PV fuses help ensure the operational longevity, maintenance convenience, and safety of solar home and building applications.”

This new development helps eliminate mounting separate solar panels over the existing roofing, allowing the use of the new integrated PV shingles to serve in a dual function – as the protective roofing material while collecting electricity to power the building.

The 400PV Fuse series offer these key benefits:

  • Avoid nuisance opening due to high-reliability performance, 10,000 A max interrupting current at rated voltage.
