Mahindra Comviva Gets Recognition for Digital Ticketing

Mahindra Comviva asserts that it has received high recognition at the prestigious Future Digital Awards 2015 organised by Juniper Research. Its mTicketing service for Bangladesh Railways has been declared winner in the ‘Digital Ticketing’ category. The company was also highly commended in the ‘Contactless Payment’ category for Airtel Money Tanzania NFC Payments.

Bangladesh Railways serving over 60 million passengers annually – Mahindra Comviva’s mobiquity Money leveraged Bangladesh Railways to digitize ticketing transactions, extending greater convenience to consumers whilst improving sales efficiency. Deployed in partnership with leading operators in Bangladesh, the service allows customers to purchase tickets using a prepaid mobile wallet or over-the-counter at an authorized outlet.

Customers now save money by avoiding the journey to the railway station to book their ticket – a saving of time and associated wage loss as well as the cost of transportation to the booking office. For operators, mTicketing leads to increase in revenues from mobile financial services.
