While focusing on innovation and indigenous technology development & demonstration, Internet Governance Division, MeitY has initiated a proposal scheme for Internet governance.
The proposals for financial support may send by Scientists/ Engineers/ Technologists and faculty members working in Universities/ Academic institutions/ Civil Society/ Technical Community/ Registered Industry Body/ Registered Scientific Societies/ R&D institutions/ Laboratories/Autonomous R&D organizations of the Government having adequate infrastructural facilities to carry out research activities.
It can be single or multi-institutional, with well-defined milestones/ timelines and roles of individual institutions. The Project proposals should have clear objectives, scope, outcome and quantifiable deliverables with specific time frame. Working Group (WG) consisting of technical experts would carry out evaluation of the projects for recommendation. The WG recommended project proposals may be considered for financial support depending upon the availability of funds.
The thrust areas of Internet Governance Division includes Technical and Policy matters related to Domain Names, Internet Protocols (Ipv4, Ipv6, ASN), Internet Standards development, Awareness on Internet Governance, Awareness on Universal Acceptance, Maintaining the Security, Stability, and Resiliency of the Internet DNS and improve critical internet infrastructure of the country, Increase Indian participation in Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers and other internet technology and policy related forums.
