Mouser, Grant Imahara and Local Motors to Mind-boggle by Developing a 3D-printed Autonomous Vehicle
Mouser is disrupting its online storming Empowering Innovation Together educational program. Traversing to its next stage, the heavyweight electronic distributor has announced to team up with Local Motors and celebrity engineer Grant Imahara to build a fully transforming vehicle cockpit for 3D-printed autonomous vehicles.
A new video diving into the exciting 3D-print project will focus on reimagining the interior of the Local Motors Strati, which is known as the world’s first 3D-printed vehicle. And highlight the extraordinary possibilities with autonomous car design.
This next-gen innovative development will embed every electronic component from Mouser’s valued manufacturer partners and Platinum Sponsors of the series, Maxim and Murata.
The design developed by Finn Younkers of Rhode Island features a drone mounted on the rear of the vehicle that, when launched, gives the driver an unprecedented birds-eye-view of the surroundings.
Younkers’ design was also chosen as the winner of the Local Motors Challenge.
