- Stringent deadlines and shorter time to market is the current demand of design engineers? Being a pioneer global distribution firm, how you manage to cap the demand?
We are the industry’s New Product Introduction leader, in 5 years we have added approximately $350+ million & 400K+ stock keeping units. We continue to stock the widest selection of components and promote the newest products from our 700-plus supplier partners, which gives OEM and EMS engineers a major advantage. We maintain the highest 879,832 unique part numbers in stock that differentiates us from the global and local competitors.
Mouser has seen its business grow over the last several years, including 2018. While the industry experienced longer lead times, shorter deadlines and increased demand in global and Indian markets, this led many customers to Mouser because of our strong inventory position.

- What key major technologies are of major demand in the current Indian market?
We expect growth to continue in all regions of the globe, particularly in the areas of automotive/transportation, industrial, AI, robotics, smart metering and smart grid, power and the Internet of Things (IoT) space — especially sensor technologies, wireless and RF, and microcontrollers. These key market sectors are certainly driving growth. However, focus products and technology/application sectors do vary from region to region depending on the local design and manufacturing needs.

- India is a growing market with massive component demand, in this scenario how do you keep yourself ahead of the competitive curve?
We are very optimistic about going into 2019. We saw strong, double-digit growth in 2017, and we expect it to continue through 2018. As we near the end of the year, 2018 is proving to be yet another record year. The challenge of continued consolidation has been with us for a few years and while it is diminishing, it does continue to linger industry-wide. The industry is also seeing challenges from product availability and longer product lead times, which Mouser controls by stocking more inventory than ever before. With our expanded distribution centre and a greatly increased number of personnel, we can continue to provide our customers with the excellent service they have come to expect.

- Where do you see the Indian electronics market five years down the line?
The Indian electronics market is one of the largest in the world and is anticipated to reach $400 billion in 2022, up from US$ 69.6 billion in 2012.
