Mouser Stocks NXP’s LX2 QorIQ Layerscape Processors

Mouser Electronics has recently started stocking the QorIQ LX2160A, LX2120A, and LX2080A (LX2) Layerscape processors from NXP Semiconductors.

MouserBuilt on up to 16 Arm Cortex-A72 processor cores, the LX2 processors feature scalable data path acceleration logic, as well as the network and bus interfaces required to support applications including storage, networking, wireless infrastructure, military, aerospace, and telecommunications.

The NXP LX2 QorIQ Layerscape processors, available at Mouser, comprise the LX2160A, LX2120A, and LX2080A, which include 16, 12, and eight Arm Cortex-A72 processor cores, respectively, delivering the high performance of up to 2.2 GHz.

The processors are supported by a consistent API providing both simple and complex manipulation of the devices’ hardware peripherals.

The processors feature a 16 Mbytes cache, 2 Mbytes packet caching buffer, and a 122 Gbit/s Layer 2 Ethernet switch. The versatile processors offer up to 16 Ethernet ports, up to 24 PCIe Gen4 lanes, and 24 SerDes lanes operating up to 25 GHz.

For designs with size constraints, the LX2162A, LX2122A, and LX2082A processors offer the processing capabilities of the LX2xx0A devices in roughly a quarter of the size.

Suitable for small boards such as network interface cards and custom daughter cards, the LX2xx2A processors integrate low-power 16nm FinFET process technology to support optimum performance in a limited form factor.
