Mphasis and Lokalex partners for National Digital Literacy mission

Mphasis announces financial results and appoints new CFO

Mphasis F1 Foundation has revealed that it has entered into partnership with Lokalex (Local Community Exchange Empowerment Trust). As part of the partnership, the company will introduce a pilot project to foster rural education with the help of IT. The program has been initiated as part of the National Digital Literacy mission. Both the organization will set up education centres for supporting education and all round development of tribal children.

Speaking about the partnership, Elango R, Chief Human Resources Officer & Head Emerging Geographies SBU, Mphasis Ltd, said, “The government’s Digital India vision is a crucial step in driving India into its next phase of growth. We believe that, innovation and skill development is necessary to realize this vision. In keeping with our brand promise of Unleash the Next, we will effectively leverage technology to leapfrog into a more digitally connected world. We strongly believe that this partnership with Lokalex will enable us reach out to more remotely located groups and widen the impact we intend to create.”

On being associated with Mphasis F1 Foundation, Rajaram, Managing Trustee, Lokalex, said, “Lokalex works for activities that empower disadvantaged sections of people to sustain themselves through education and entrepreneurial initiatives. We provide technology, management and financial inputs to help communities to bootstrap their local economy. In Education, we provide innovative learning environments that includes internet based interactions with  mentors from all over India and the world, computer based animated and interactive material for children and adults, so that simple concepts of various subjects, personal topics and everyday life is told in a creative way for them to remember and retain. With the innovative, forward thinking and the inclusive policies of Mphasis F1 Foundation, we look to reach out to more deserving people.”

The educational centers run by Mphasis F1 Foundation and Lokalex will provide digital infrastructure in chosen rural areas. The centers will be internet enabled and will train local resources to run the center in the long term. The center will provide education and remote mentoring by experts as well as employee volunteers from Mphasis.
