MTS announces consolidated financial results


Sistema Shyam TeleServices, which, operates under the brand name of MTS in the country, has announced its unaudited consolidated financial results of the third quarter. The report highlights an increase of 20% Y-O-Y in the area of consolidated revenues. Along with this the mobile ARPU has also increased by 2%.

The non-voice revenue of the company witnessed the increase of 14% and the data card subscriber base of the company also grown up to 6.3% taking the total number of users to 1.5 million. However, the usage of minutes has decreased by 3.7%.

Talking about the results, Dmitry Shukov, CEO of Sistema Shyam Teleservices Ltd, said, “During the quarter, our non-voice revenues grew by 14% thereby contributing 43% of the total revenues. The results have once again demonstrated the market acceptance of our world class 3G plus network. To further strengthen, the data story in India, it is imperative that the government comes out with a clear roadmap on spectrum sharing and trading. We are hopeful that as this happens, it would give a boost to broadband penetration in the country.”

The report also highlights that the company incurred the loss of 9% during the quarter.
