The retail giant is extending two of its pioneering products – Selling on Amazon (SOA) and Fulfilment By Amazon (FBA) to businesses from across the country to go Global listing on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk. Amazon will provide local competency solutions through verified third party service providers to let Indian businesses take their creations to the world.

Under the retailers program the company will allow manufacturers and local brands to export products in the Apparel, Home Furnishing (including Indian Handicrafts), Jewelry, Books, Collectibles, Sporting Goods, Handbags, Shoes, and Health & Beauty categories.

SOA provides businesses of all sizes, with no product listing fees, no upfront costs of creating a website or setting up a physical store and secure payments infrastructure. With FBA manufacturers and sellers can store their products in Amazon’s warehouse; the retailer packs and delivers the orders to customers, provides customer service and handles returns.

Talking about the opportunity for Indian business including SMEs, Amit Deshpande, Director Seller Services, Amazon India said “In recent years, the growth of global e-commerce has made export of products  an intensifying force in India’s foreign trade, offering millions of enterprises, most of which are small and medium Businesses (SMB’s), an opportunity to expand beyond the domestic market. There is great demand for Indian products, not only from the millions of Indians living abroad but global consumers across ethnicities who benefit from a vast & unique selection at reasonable prices from Indian sellers. We look forward to helping businesses navigate through the complexities of selling globally and develop an international footprint by leveraging the enormous demand for their products across borders and thus transform the way India makes and sells.”
