CeBIT partners with STPI to foster growth of Indian MSMEs

CeBIT(Center for Office Automation, Information Technology and Telecommunication) India, the Indian subsidiary of the Global JV Company HMG has entered into a strategic partnership with STPI the society under the ministry of Communication and Information Technology. This tie-up will allow 100 MSMEs from India to showcase their new and innovative technologies at the STPI pavilion at the event scheduled to take place from 12-15 November at Bengaluru. As a result of this partnership, the 15 selected MSMEs will get the opportunity to showcase their technologies and represent the country at CeBIT Hannover 2015 event.

Speaking about the partnership, Mehul Lanvers-Shah, MD Hannover Fairs India Pvt Ltd. Said, “We are excited to unite with STPI for promoting the Indian MSME sector. We believe that boosting the micro, small and medium enterprises ecosystem is critical for transforming the vision of India as a global manufacturing hub into reality. For a country that has rung out the ‘Make in India’ mantra, CeBIT India is an ideal platform to recognize the tremendous potential of Indian MSMEs and activate exciting opportunities in electronics and software ecosystems from all across the globe.”

Commenting about the same tie-up, Omkar Rai, Director General, STPI said, “We are glad to join hands with CeBIT India. We have been championing the cause of developing the MSME sector in the country for over 23 years. As the country reverberates Prime Minister Modi’s Make in India initiative, the government has mandated to develop the Software Technology Parks of India and catalyze the Indian MSME growth story. A show of tremendous international repute, CeBIT India is the perfect platform for promoting the small and medium scale enterprises and providing them with global exposure of an incredible scale”.

The first CeBIT India show is scheduled to take place in 2014 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre. The event aims to boost the new business in the Indian IT & ITes market.
