Nichia Launches Deep UV-C LED

Nichia Corporation has unveiled a new Deep UV LED NCSU334A that emits at 280 nm in the ultraviolet (UV) range and specifically in the UV-C band that enables instantaneous sterilization and purification for air, fluids, and surfaces

The NCSU334A achieves a significant lifetime improvement versus conventional UV lamps. Additionally, NCSU334A LED uses a newly developed hermetically-sealed package, which makes it a highly reliable product that is not as susceptible to external environmental conditions and can, therefore, be used in various harsh environments.

With the new UV LED, Nichia aims to contribute to the complete replacement of mercury, to continue to improve the characteristics of its UVC LED portfolio and to create a new Deep UV market leveraging the characteristics of Solid-State Lighting.
