Nordson Unveils Medical X-Ray Imaging Systems
Nordson Corporation has rolled out X-ray Technologies for medical imaging systems.
This new range of CMOS flat-panel detectors is founded on the success of Nordson’s high-resolution dynamic X-ray detectors for industrial X-ray applications and marks Nordson’s entry into medical X-ray imaging.
“Having acquired core CMOS detector technology and expertise from vivaMOS last year, I’m delighted that we can now combine it with our large company scale and medical imaging partnership with IBEX to become a genuine alternative for leading medical OEMs. All of our OEM products are designed and manufactured in-house to ensure the highest level of quality and service for our OEM customers, who will benefit from our experience of having thousands of units already in the field, integrated within Nordson X-ray systems,” said Perry Duffill, Divisional VP.
The medical range of OEM products is being developed with an innovative high-speed high sensitivity large area CMOS image sensor at its core. This in-house CMOS design offers best-in-class low-dose image quality with several unique customization options.
In addition, the patent-pending tiling process enables larger form factor detectors to be manufactured with only a single 50 µm pixel gap between tiles, reducing cone-beam artefacts and dead zones.
Furthermore, to provide the maximum value and simplify the adoption model for medical OEMs, Nordson is partnering with IBEX Innovations Ltd to create a joint product offering, combining their leading detector performance with the proven IBEX Trueview scatter correction and image enhancement tools for consistent low-dose images of the highest quality.
The new medical detector range, currently in development, will be available to discuss with the Nordson X-ray Technology team at RSNA 2021, booth 3161.
