Post a stringent evaluation process, IATF’s team of auditors chose to award the certificate to the company for its quality-centric efforts in EV design and manufacturing. This makes Okinawa the first EV manufacturer in the country to attain this feat.

Speaking about the achievement, Jeetender Sharma, Founder, and Managing Director, Okinawa Autotech said, “Okinawa’s three core business values are Innovation, Quality, and Sustainability. Receiving the IATF-16949 certification is a testimony to our obsession with quality to produce the best-in-class products and reaffirms our belief in our core values. It also pushes us to compete against our benchmarks and strive for continuous improvement and consumer satisfaction.”

Sharma further added,” This is a stepping stone in our commitment to extend quality products for customers and to make mass adoption of electric two-wheelers to the next level in India”

IATF is thus yet another feather in the cap in Okinawa’s journey of attaining the firsts in the EV industry:

  • First to receive FAME-II certification
  • First to introduce detachable battery
  • First electric scooter- Okinawa’s IPraise has traveled 1350 km from Gurgaon

to Khardung-La, the highest motorable road in the world.

IATF emphasizes creating a quality-centric culture among people at all levels. Thus, Okinawa continues to impart necessary training through industry experts and has also developed its rule book in line with IATF standards and some of its past failures.
