onsemi Recognized for its Partnerships with Technical Facilities

onsemi is very honored to be named the eventual winners of this category, reflecting the importance they place on collaboration with the academic sector.

onsemi has been awarded for its close links to technical education facilities in the Slovakia region.

onsemi Technical UniversitiesThe 10th annual CEE BSC Summit and Awards 2022 took place recently in Warsaw, Poland.

“We at onsemi place great value on our relationships with technical universities as we know that is where our future employees are located. To win this award is a huge honor for the onsemi team – we are very grateful to receive this recognition and wish to thank all those involved,” said Andrej Tomasik, General Manager of onsemi operation in Slovakia.

This is the leading annual awards event for CEE Business Services across Central Eastern Europe. The event was attended by executives from Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Georgia and Moldova, representing a total of 129 companies.

A total of ten companies, including onsemi, IBM and Western Union, were shortlisted for the ‘Best University-Business Cooperation of the Year’ category.

In Slovakia onsemi has actively engaged with the technical facilities in many top Slovak universities, creating strong relationships.

This includes the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Zilina (FEIT UNIZA) and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (FEI STU).

Following an agreement with the University of Zilina, onsemi located its workplace at the university back in 2017 to further develop the interconnection between academic research and practice.

This enabled the support of electrotechnical education and skill development. In return, onsemi benefitted from direct access to the most talented students and university employees to support real-world designs.
